1951 Land Rover Series 1 80" SWB 'Reborn'

Chassis 16133267 is a 1951 Land Rover Series 1 short-wheelbase (80-inch) left-hand drive export model, number 20 of only 25 examples selected globally for the factory-run 'Land Rover Reborn' programme administered by Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works in Coventry. It is the sole unit built to North American specification within the programme and one of ten left-hand drive examples. The concours-level, nut-and-bolt restoration was completed and handed over in September 2019.

Full nut-and-bolt factory restoration under the Reborn programme: vehicle stripped to bulkhead and chassis, all corroded metal replaced, chassis and bulkhead blast-cleaned and primed, body panels refurbished using original manufacturing techniques, all service-wear components renewed, engine fully rebuilt and blueprinted, body panels multi-coat painted with low-bake cure, and vehicle shaken down and re-audited before final handover.
Restoration commenced February 2018 and concluded with customer handover in September 2019. Engine was run on a test bench prior to installation; road testing conducted at JLR's Solihull Experience Centre. Final oil and filter change carried out before delivery.
