A genuine AVO-built Ford Escort Mexico, assembled at Aveley in May 1971, one of the most successful and numerous of the Rally Sport Escort variants. Powered by a 1,600cc Kent crossflow engine with a gas-flowed head and twin 45 DCOE Weber carburettors, it features a dry-sump oil system, close-ratio Rocket gearbox, and limited-slip differential. The car carries an earlier MSA rally competition logbook and scrutineering stickers consistent with active rally use, and has recently been prepared for a return to competition.
