The 1957 Pontiac Star Chief Custom Bonneville was among the most exclusive American automobiles of its era, with only 630 production examples built — one allocated per US dealer. All were convertibles powered by a Rochester fuel-injected 347 cu in V-8 producing 315 bhp, priced in Cadillac territory. This particular car is believed to be one of just eight finished in Charcoal Grey, features optional continental kit and rear fender skirts, was the subject of a professional frame-off restoration with the fuel injection unit rebuilt by noted GM specialist Gail Parsons, and appeared in Robert Genat's book Fuelies.
