Chassis 2102 is the second Maserati A6G/2000 produced and the first of that series to receive Zagato berlinetta coachwork, completed in March 1955. The car served as Maserati's official practice vehicle for the 1956 Mille Miglia, during which it was extensively driven and praised by Sir Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson. It subsequently competed in the Mille Miglia itself and in earlier Italian events. After spending decades in Italy, the United States, and Japan, the car underwent a body restoration in England before passing to its current German owner, who commissioned further specialist work in Switzerland.
