1962 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider

AR101.23373985roadItaly

A 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider (Type 101.23, chassis AR101.23/373985), one of the earliest examples produced at the transition from 1290cc Giulietta to 1570cc Giulia specification. Converted from a sound road car into a competitive race car in the mid-1980s by Connecticut-based Alfa specialist Keith Goring, the car built a lengthy campaign record on the US East Coast and became widely recognised by its race number 92. A thorough bare-metal restoration around 2009–2010 refreshed the car in Blue Medio livery, and it subsequently competed in Northern California vintage events and the prestigious Monterey Reunion in 2012.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
