A Series II BMW 507 roadster, chassis completed and delivered in July 1958, originally finished in Spring White. One of only 252 hand-built examples produced over two and a half years, this car was commissioned through the efforts of importer Max Hoffman and styled by Count Albrecht von Goertz. The car underwent a full body-off, concours-quality restoration at TT Workshops in England around 2000–2002, after which it was shown at Pebble Beach and won class honours at the Kirkland Concours in 2007 and 2008. Currently presented in Midnight Blue with a colour-matched hardtop and red leather interior.

Maintenance & restoration

    TT Workshops

    Full body-off restoration to concours standard carried out over approximately two years. The engine and gearbox were fully rebuilt during this process. At the start of the project the car was noted to be largely complete and well-preserved, providing a strong foundation.

    Restoration was commissioned by Rick Thompson and overseen by John Giles at TT Workshops in Westbury, England. Documented in the July 2002 issue of Roundel magazine. Car was refinished and returned to the US in July 2002.
