A 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet, one of only 1,232 built between 1969 and 1971, finished in an uncommon Dark Red over Black leather with a Black hood. Originally specified for the US market with floor-shift automatic transmission, Behr air conditioning, and a Becker Europa stereo, it retains its numbers-matching 3.5-litre V-8. A comprehensive no-expense-spared restoration was undertaken by Brabus Classic in Germany, after which fewer than 3,000 miles have been covered.

Maintenance & restoration
- —RestorationBrabus Classic
Full ground-up restoration carried out to an unrestricted budget: every component was dismantled, refurbished, and reassembled to factory standards. The bodywork was refinished in the correct Dark Red over Black, all mechanical systems including the 3.5-litre V-8 were comprehensively overhauled, and the odometer was reset upon completion.
Photographic records of the restoration process are included with the car. Since completion, under 3,000 miles have been accumulated.
