Chassis 8727 is the fourth 330 GTC produced, completed in July 1966 and acquired directly by Sergio Pininfarina as a personal design-study vehicle. The car received numerous experimental modifications — including pop-up fog lamps derived from the Superfast I concept, relocated interior vents, dual heater controls, and hood vents in place of fender vents — several of which were later adopted in production on the 365 GTC and 365 California Spider. After a comprehensive restoration completed in 2002, the car was exhibited at the Blackhawk Automotive Museum in California.

    Restoration recommenced in mid-1999; coachbuilder Steve Moal rebuilt the front end and fabricated new pop-up fog lamps referencing a 365 California Spider as a template. Bodywork was refinished in the original factory colour Blu Scuro using a paint code supplied by Pininfarina, and the interior was retrimmed in tan leather.

    Restoration

    Full restoration was completed to a standard reflecting Sergio Pininfarina's original experimental specification.

    The car was repainted in silver and re-trimmed with black leather upholstery; the unique pop-up fog lamps were removed at some point during its American ownership prior to the subsequent restoration.
