The car carries documented period racing history, including a notable second-place finish driven by Phil Hill at Bergstrom Air Force Base in April 1953, and a class win at Torrey Pines in 1955. Following a full restoration in 1988, it passed through several owners before entering the same private collection for nearly three decades.
