The Ghia L 6.4 was a hand-built Italian grand tourer produced in a run of just 26 examples between roughly 1960 and 1962, developed from the earlier Dual-Ghia concept by Paul Farago and styled with input from Chrysler's Virgil Exner. Chassis 0319, the 19th car built, was originally delivered in Italy before being imported to the United States and passing through the hands of noted collector Fred Kanter. Comprehensively restored to factory specification in its most recent ownership, the car has since earned class honours at the 2015 Concorso Italiano and the 2015 Concours on the Avenue.

Maintenance & restoration

  1. Restoration

Full ground-up restoration carried out by the current owner, with every component refinished to match original factory specification using period-correct Ghia and Chrysler parts or accurate reproductions where originals were unavailable. Finished in Rosso Rubino Metallizzato with a Wollsdorf Nappa red leather interior.

Restoration included correct Ghia two-light taillight assemblies; the original European three-light parts were retained separately and accompany the car. Dual-Ghia historian Dr. Paul Sable confirmed the quality of the work.

Are you the owner of this car?

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
