A rare right-hand-drive 1971 Maserati Ghibli SS 4.9 Coupe, chassis no. 2506, confirmed by Maserati Classiche as one of only twelve SS 4.9 Coupes built in this specification and almost certainly the penultimate car in the production sequence. Assembled in late October 1971, it left the factory in rosso fuoco over white Connolly leather and was delivered to the UK, where it has remained since new. The car passed through at least six UK owners before undergoing a full restoration around 1999 and later a comprehensive mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment by McGrath Maserati.

Comprehensive mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment undertaken at McGrath Maserati at the direction of the consignor, including a respray in Verde Gemma and a full re-trim in light brown leather.

Prompted by the owner's intention to use the car as a weekend driver and touring vehicle; extensive service records covering 18 years of McGrath Maserati work across multiple owners accompany the car.

Are you the owner of this car?

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
