Maintenance & restoration

    Original Cadillac V-8 removed and replaced with a more powerful 392 cu in Chrysler Hemi V-8 by the first private owner.

    Full concours-level restoration carried out by UK specialists; all original alloy body panels retained except the rear deck lid, and a new steel floor was fabricated to replace the corroded original. The body was restored by coachbuilder Rod Jolley, who also made bespoke caps for the spare-tyre wells. New exterior paintwork was applied by Kevin O'Rourke of Moto Technique Ltd. The Chrysler Hemi V-8 was also rebuilt as part of this work.

    Ron Jenkins of RaceSport International led the restoration effort; photographic documentation is on file.

    Multiple upgrades made to support competitive FIA-legal vintage racing: new billet suspension uprights fabricated to replace crack-prone originals, Spicer axle shafts fitted, modified Jaguar rear-axle hubs installed, larger Buick drum brakes added, and Halibrand wheels fitted.

    Modifications performed as part of or following the 1993 restoration programme to suit rigorous historic racing use.
