Chassis 0257 EU is a 1952-built Ferrari 212 Inter Coupé bodied by Alfredo Vignale to a design by Giovanni Michelotti — the first of six similar examples in this series. Distinguished by elevated front bumperettes, a high waistline, low roofline, and subtle rear tailfins, the car was delivered new through a Turin dealer in 1953. After early ownership by American businessman Robert C. Wilke and subsequent changes of hand, the original matching-numbers V-12 was reunited with its chassis during a fully documented restoration by Gassman Automotive, earning a Platinum Award at the Cavallino Classic in 2013 and authentication via a Ferrari Classiche Red Book.
