Chassis XKC 052 is one of three factory-built lightweight C-Types prepared for the 1953 Le Mans race and among the most historically significant of the model. As the only cars at that event equipped with disc brakes, the trio played a decisive role in Jaguar's victory. XKC 052 finished 4th, driven by Peter Whitehead and Ian Stewart. Subsequently sold to Ecurie Ecosse, it accumulated an outstanding 1954 season record before passing through several noted British racing privateer hands, compiling an extensive competition history across British and European circuits into the late 1950s.
