Chassis 875594 is an early Series 1 Jaguar E-Type Roadster completed at Brown's Lane on 25 September 1961 and dispatched for export to Rome the following week. One of the most collectible flat-floor examples — with welded bonnet louvres and internal bonnet latches — it was originally delivered in Cream over Black leather to Italian concessionaire Fattori & Montani. The car returned to Britain in 2013, by which point it had been restored and repainted in British Racing Green over tan leather, retaining its matching-numbers drivetrain.

Maintenance & restoration

  1. Restoration

Full restoration carried out prior to 2013, including a repaint from the original Cream to British Racing Green and a re-trim in tan leather; matching-numbers chassis, engine block, and cylinder head were retained throughout.

Work is said to have been completed while the car was still in Italy, before its return to the UK.

  2. Mechanical

A replacement hood frame and new black cloth soft-top were installed while the car was in UK ownership after 2013.

Described as a costly upgrade undertaken during the car's time back in Britain.

Are you the owner of this car?

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
