Ferrari 250 GT Series II Cabriolet, chassis 2587, is the 131st of only 200 second-series Pininfarina-bodied examples built, completed in July 1961 in Grigio Fumo over beige and fitted with overdrive transmission. Delivered new to a French-Californian owner who retained it for 25 years, the car subsequently passed through several notable American collectors, accumulated FCA Platinum honours and Cavallino Classic awards, and received a thorough bare-metal restoration to factory-correct specification before appearing at the 2017 and 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

Comprehensive preparation for Pebble Beach concours judging: new convertible top and full exhaust system fitted, new fuel tank fabricated and installed, gauges repaired, rubber and seals renewed, selective wiring replaced, front and rear disc calipers rebuilt, steering box adjusted, brake calipers and engine hardware cad-plated, correct hose clamps fitted, and all three carburettors rebuilt and dyno-tuned.
Carried out ahead of the 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance judging under the current owner.

Car repainted red and interior retrimmed in beige, carried out after acquisition by Richard W. Gent.

Full bare-metal disassembly and rebuild to factory-correct specification, returning the car to its original Grigio Fumo colour scheme and beige leather interior. The matching-numbers drivetrain was completely stripped and rebuilt, front and rear suspension disassembled and inspected, generator and dynamo rebuilt, and the gearbox resealed.
Commissioned by the previous (pre-2018) owner; resulted in the factory-correct appearance the car retains today.
