Maintenance & restoration

  1. 1994Restoration
    Conrad Stevenson

A thorough ground-up restoration was carried out between 1994 and 1996: the car was fully disassembled, the body refinished in original white, and the drivetrain, brakes, suspension, and interior all refurbished. Suspension work included new bushings, Koni shock absorbers, and springs; brake hydraulics were rebuilt and shoes relined. The dashboard was restored with correct Veloce instrumentation, and the engine bay was returned to authentic appearance with period-correct components.

Stevenson was a respected Alfa Romeo specialist based in Berkeley, California. Restoration invoices are included with the car.

  2. Engine rebuild

The engine was rebuilt and its displacement increased to approximately 1,450cc, with new camshafts, valves, valve springs, and guides fitted, and all gaskets replaced.

This work is described as having taken place prior to the Stevenson restoration of 1994–1996; the shop responsible is not identified.

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
