A Ferrari Dino 246 GTS — the open-roof targa variant and most sought-after road-going Dino, of which only 1,274 were made — this example was delivered new through Belgian dealer Garage Francorchamps to a Brussels firm and its associate Jean Damman. It subsequently passed to Swiss-Belgian gentleman racing driver Jean-François Vaney, who also operated a workshop near the Zolder circuit. Between 2000 and 2012 it underwent a thorough restoration and engine modification inspired by the Lancia Stratos rally specification, raising output to approximately 220 bhp.

Maintenance & restoration

  1. Mechanical

Suspension geometry upgraded to improve road stability.

Carried out as part of the broader 2000–2012 restoration programme.

  2. Restoration

Comprehensive restoration finished in classic Rosso Corsa, documented by a set of accompanying photographs. Work spanned roughly twelve years between 2000 and 2012.

Since completion the car has covered only around 250 km; additional running-in is advised before hard use.

  3. Engine rebuild

Engine modified along Lancia Stratos rally-spec lines: carburettors and camshaft upgraded, new pistons fitted, hardened valves installed, raising estimated output from the standard 190 bhp to approximately 220 bhp. Original carburettors retained and supplied with the car.

Also carried out within the 2000–2012 restoration period.
