The 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, chassis 07884, is an E-series example completed on 25 March 1974 and originally supplied to the United States via importer Luigi Chinetti. One of reportedly only 29 built in Celeste Metallizzato, it retains its matching-numbers V6 engine and was sold through American hands before passing to a Swiss Ferrari collector in 1989. A subsequent comprehensive refurbishment by a Swedish specialist returned the car to its original colour and trim specification, and it now carries Swiss veteran registration.

  3. Restoration
    Swedish specialist (unnamed)

A Swedish specialist carried out a bare-metal respray returning the car to its factory Celeste Metallizzato colour, using colour codes and paint formula sourced with Ferrari Classiche's assistance. USA-specification side-marker lamps were removed in the process. New blue Connolly leather sourced from Maranello was fitted along with new seat foam, restoring the interior to as-delivered condition. The matching-numbers V6 engine was removed and given an extensive overhaul, and the MPH speedometer was exchanged for a metric unit.

Work was commissioned by the most recent owner after a period of use across Europe; the original MPH speedometer is included with the car.

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
