1953 Siata 208S Spider

BS 535racingItaly
Engine
2.0L 70-degree alloy V8, twin Weber 36DCZ carburetors, 125 bhp

The Siata 208S Spider, chassis BS 535, is the last in the sequence of 33 Carrozzeria Motto-bodied examples and one of roughly 35 total V-8 spiders produced. Powered by Fiat's rare alloy Tipo 104 two-litre V-8 with coachwork designed by Giovanni Michelotti, the 208S was a formidable competitor in early SCCA racing. This example passed through long-term American ownership before Walter Eisenstark reunited the car with its original engine and commissioned a multi-year restoration by Epifani Restorations. Subsequently refined to concours standard, it earned top honours at Pebble Beach, Villa d'Este, and Amelia Island.

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
