0806racingItaly
Engine
1.98L SOHC inline-six, ~210 bhp at 7,500 rpm, three Weber 42 DCN carburetors

Ferrari 248/268/196 SP chassis 0806 is the second of two 2.4-litre 248 SPs built at Maranello, debuting at the 1962 Sebring 12 Hours before being uprated to 268 SP specification for the Nürburgring 1,000 KM, where Pedro and Ricardo Rodriguez drove it. Converted late in 1962 to 196 SP configuration — the engine it retains today — it passed through several notable American racers before entering the collections of Pierre Bardinon and subsequently Fabrizio Violati, and later received a full restoration to original 1962 Works specification.

Are you the owner of this car?

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
