Chassis 904 012 is one of the earliest customer-delivered Porsche 904 GTS examples, completed at Zuffenhausen in January 1964 in silver metallic with a blue interior and originally equipped with a Type 587/3 four-cylinder engine. Notably the second 904 delivered outside the factory works program, it was airfreighted to New York on January 16, 1964 for the American racing season. The car raced under the Otto Zipper Precision Motor Cars banner at prominent North American venues in 1964 and subsequently passed through the hands of several notable owners including actor Robert Redford and racing promoter Steve Earle. It retains its original bodywork, chassis, transaxle, and suspension, and is documented by the factory Kardex, a comprehensive history file, and references in major marque publications.
