This 1930s Duesenberg Model J, chassis 2144 with engine J-119, carries a Murphy 'Disappearing Top' Convertible Coupe body (number 922) — widely regarded as the most visually distinctive coachwork ever fitted to the Model J. Assembled from an early chassis returned to the factory and a stock Murphy body, it passed through notable Chicago and East Coast ownership before spending roughly a quarter-century with Florida enthusiast Eric Bardeen, who drove it extensively and famously piloted it from Florida to the 2010 ACD Club Reunion in Auburn, Indiana.

Full mechanical inspection and servicing by a recognised Duesenberg specialist; confirmed all components as genuine Duesenberg parts, verified the body retains most of its original wood (stamped '922' on floorboards), established good compression across all cylinders (100–110 psi), and noted the engine's updated steel Carillo connecting rods in place of the failure-prone original aluminium units.
Workshop operated by Duesenberg authority Brian Joseph, located in Troy, Michigan.
