The car was raced extensively by Venezuelan motorsport enthusiast German Botero, including a modern La Carrera Panamericana rally appearance. In 2013 it passed to collector Juan Hinestrosa, who commissioned a comprehensive bare-metal restoration by Florida specialists P4 Motorsports and Champion Motorsport, including a full engine rebuild to original specification. The restored car has covered approximately 500 miles since completion.
