Chassis DB5/2016/R is one of only 65 Aston Martin DB5 Vantages built, a right-hand-drive example produced in 1964–65 and fitted with the high-compression Vantage engine producing 325 bhp via triple Weber twin-choke carburettors. The car retains a high degree of originality throughout the cabin and engine bay, and its Vantage specification was formally confirmed in writing by Aston Martin. Acquired in Germany near the end of the twentieth century, it underwent a meticulous multi-year restoration completed in 2002.
