Chassis 1120260 is a 1977 Lamborghini Countach LP400 'Periscopio' — among the rarest and most desirable of the Countach lineage — finished originally in Rosso over Tobacco and specified in right-hand drive. Collected directly from the Sant'Agata factory on 2 June 1977, it toured Europe before arriving in Australia, where it spent 36 years. Briefly converted to LP400S specification locally, it was subsequently restored to original LP400 configuration by its fourth owner and appeared as an award winner at the Lamborghini 50th Anniversary display at Motorclassica in 2013.

Shortly after the car's arrival in Australia, the local New South Wales Lamborghini distributor converted it to LP400S specification by flaring the wheel arches and fitting LP400S-style Bravo wheels, a front spoiler, and a rear wing.

Conversion carried out shortly after the car returned to Australia, dating to around 1978.

  5. Engine rebuild

The V-12 engine was rebuilt approximately two decades before the catalogue date, restoring mechanical integrity while the rest of the car remained in largely original condition.

Described as having been carried out roughly twenty years prior to cataloguing.

Are you the owner of this car?

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
