Nate Cantwell (fabrication); Jim Nichols (paintwork)

Full restoration undertaken by Mark Heininge following acquisition around 1985. The car was reportedly rust-free and retained original lighting and rear quarter glass. Bodywork correction involved specialist Nate Cantwell recreating correct RS wheel arch flares, butt-welded to original panels rather than replacing them. Steel tub, fiberglass bumpers, and engine cover were stripped and repainted in original Light Ivory by Jim Nichols. Interior received a new headliner and lightweight carpet set, and a NOS roll bar was sourced directly from Porsche.

Mechanical freshening was also carried out by Jeff Gamroth at Rothsport in Sherwood, Oregon, and Pat Hartmann at Hartmann Motors in Portland, Oregon. Original Fuchs alloy wheels were properly refinished.

  2. 1985Mechanical
Rothsport (Jeff Gamroth); Hartmann Motors (Pat Hartmann)

Scope and cost documented by accompanying invoices; original tank shell was retained with a new fuel cell installed inside it.

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
