Chassis 8565 SF is the 34th of 36 Ferrari 500 Superfasts constructed, and one of only 12 second-series examples, built in late 1965 and delivered in April 1966. Finished originally in Bleu Sera over Grigio leather, it left the factory with air conditioning, power windows, and power steering. Its first owner was celebrated California racing impresario and European car importer John von Neumann. Following several subsequent owners, a full restoration in 1993 reunited the car with its matching-numbers engine. A comprehensive refurbishment by Paul Russell and Company in 2006 preceded an acclaimed concours career, including a class win at Amelia Island in 2003, a 95-point score at the 2005 Pebble Beach Concours, and the 2007 Amelia Award. All major drivetrain and body stampings confirm matching-numbers status.
