Among only 142 examples produced, this 1961 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport coupe is fitted with the rare 409 cubic-inch V-8 — the engine that inspired the Beach Boys' 1962 hit of the same name. One of 453 Impalas to receive the SS package that year, it combines period performance hardware with its original Arbor Green finish, and has been comprehensively restored. The car was part of the collection of the late Ralph Whitworth.
