Dispatched new to Herrington Motors in Montgomery, New York, it was acquired by a single private owner who used the car sparingly over 17 years before health forced its storage from 1985 until around 2014. Retaining matching chassis and engine numbers, the car has covered just over 45,000 miles from new and was mechanically overhauled and recommissioned before being imported to the United Kingdom.
