Chassis 1697 is a Lancia Aurelia B24S Spider America, one of only 240 left-hand-drive open sports cars bodied by Pinin Farina between late 1954 and late 1955 on the fourth-series Aurelia GT platform. Introduced at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1955, the B24S represented the sporting pinnacle of the Aurelia line, itself famous for introducing the world's first production V-6 engine. Acquired in Italy in 2006, the car subsequently underwent a thorough restoration involving celebrated coachwork specialist Dino Cognolato and mechanical specialists Noci Motor and Peter Bazille.
