Engine
289 cu. in. OHV V8, high-performance specification

SFM 5S319 is a 1965 Shelby GT350 that served as an internal development vehicle at Shelby American, used to prototype styling elements later adopted for the 1967 Shelby Mustang redesign. Assigned as a personal company car to Ford designer Charles McHose during the summer of 1966, the car was fitted with a spoilered trunk lid, side scoops, and revised stripes — features McHose subsequently incorporated into his influential 1967 redesign that defined Shelby Mustang aesthetics through 1970. After a collision and a period in dealer storage, the car passed through several California owners before a partial recommissioning in 2010 returned it closer to its original prototype configuration.
