The 1956 Continental Mark II was a deliberately restrained, mostly handcrafted luxury coupe produced by Ford's semi-autonomous Continental division, offered at a price equivalent to a Rolls-Royce and built to a standard that cost Ford an estimated $1,000 per unit in losses. Total production reached approximately 3,000 cars across 1956–1957. This example, finished in rare Dark Red with two-tone maroon and white leather, has received a comprehensive professional restoration judged worthy of awards, and is considered among the finest surviving restored examples.
