Chassis CSX 3006 is a 1965 Shelby 427 Competition Cobra, one of only 19 production examples built, retaining its original aluminium body and factory-fitted side-oiler engine. Ordered by William G. Freeman of Indiana, it was sold to The Chequered Flag in London, which converted it to right-hand drive and campaigned it during 1966, most notably at the Brands Hatch Ilford 500 where Bob Bondurant and David Piper took an outright six-hour victory. Later restored twice to its Brands Hatch configuration, it has appeared at Pebble Beach, the Goodwood Revival, and Villa d'Este.
