Chassis DB5/2270/L is a late-production, left-hand-drive 1966 Aston Martin DB5 originally commissioned by HRH Prince Abdul Ilah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, delivered to the Royal Palace in Jeddah. One of fewer than 180 left-hand-drive DB5s built, it carries an exceptionally rare factory options list including Normalair air conditioning, Marchal fog lamps, a Continental parts kit, and dual fuel tanks. Its numbers-matching engine was subsequently rebuilt to Vantage specification, and the car underwent an extensive cosmetic restoration before a 2017 showing at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.
