1979 Ford Escort RS2000

A 1979 Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000 that has been comprehensively transformed into a fully prepared Group 4-specification competition machine. Built to the current owner's brief by Maylum Motorsports of Kent, the car received X-Pack bodywork, a purpose-built 2-litre Ford Zetec engine producing 296bhp, Atlas rear axle with motorsport differential, coil-over suspension, and a full roll-cage interior. The project represents approximately 15 years of development and is presented in Signal Yellow with Blue Oval graphics.

Full strip-down and rebuild to Group 4 rally specification by Maylum Motorsports. Work encompassed replacement of body panels with X-Pack items, fitment of Atlas rear axle with motorsport limited-slip differential, Group 4 half shafts and hubs, four-pot calipers, braided brake and fuel lines, bias pedal box, coil-over suspension front and rear, and a complete competition-specification interior with roll-cage, Sparco seats, and plumbed-in fire suppression.

2-litre Ford Zetec engine assembled with a Rick Wood-prepared cylinder head, Wossner pistons, steel connecting rods, motorsport crankshaft, 45mm Jenvey throttle bodies, Omex 600 ECU, and a Titan dry-sump system. Engine run-in and mapped on a dynamometer, yielding 296bhp at 6,400rpm.
Camshaft specification designed for peak output at 7,500rpm, indicating further power potential. Dyno figures documented.
