Engine
2.0L DOHC inline-four (Tipo 111), ~170 bhp, twin Weber 40 DCOA/3 carburetors

French Blue (original), later covered with red by factory

A second-series Ferrari 500 Mondial bodied by Scaglietti, built in 1954–55 and registered under chassis number 0424 MD (factory designation 0564 MD, renumbered to facilitate French importation). One of very few competition Ferraris to survive its racing career with all major mechanical and coachwork components intact, the car retains its original French Blu livery beneath a layer of factory-applied red paint that was carefully removed in the 2000s. After a brief French competition career in 1955, the car spent a decade at the Ferrari factory before a period on display at the Autodromo di Monza, subsequently passing through a small number of documented owners across France, England, the Netherlands, and Germany before receiving Ferrari Classiche certification.

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
