1966 Ford GT40 Mk II

Ford GT40 Mk II chassis P/1032 is a significant example of Ford's factory endurance racing effort during the mid-1960s, built to Mk II specification by Shelby American after delivery from Ford Advanced Vehicles in November 1965. The car competed at the 1966 12 Hours of Sebring under Holman-Moody's banner, driven by Walt Hansgen and Mark Donohue to a 2nd-place finish — the team's best result at that event. Subsequently entered for Le Mans 1966, the car underwent pre-race testing at Ford's Kingman facility with NASCAR drivers Richard Hutcherson and Marvin Panch before the entry was affected by the tragic death of co-driver Walt Hansgen.
