An early Manchester-built Rolls-Royce 40/50 HP Silver Ghost, delivered new in early 1908 to Sir John Stewart-Clarke of Dundas Castle and registered SX48, this long-wheelbase chassis carries a Barker open-drive landaulette body. After conversion to a shooting brake, it passed through the hands of Scottish collector John Cuthill Sword, then the Harrah's Automobile Collection, before expert restoration returned it to its original landaulette configuration using recovered original components. Widely regarded as among the most mechanically authentic surviving early Silver Ghosts.

The car was returned to its original open-drive landaulette configuration by David Hemmings, incorporating recovered original components — including ironwork, a pair of doors, Barker kick plates, and Rushmore headlights — sourced from a former Dundas estate employee's family, mated with original body structure retained during the 1913 conversion.
The recreated body was verified against the car's original delivery photograph as published in Fasal's reference work on Edwardian Rolls-Royce models.
