Chevron B36 chassis no. B36-76-02, one of approximately 21 built between 1976 and 1978, was delivered new to the French privateer team Racing Organization Course (ROC) and campaigned extensively at Le Mans, achieving 6th overall and a class victory in 1977 and 11th overall with another class win in 1978. After further European racing in the early 1980s, the car passed through several owners and was later refitted with a new tub and a period Cosworth BDG engine, going on to win its class at the Le Mans Classic in 2004, 2006, and 2008.
