879784roadUnited Kingdom

A 1963 Jaguar E-Type roadster, originally built as the 784th example in left-hand drive configuration, subsequently converted to right-hand drive and transformed into a Lightweight-specification tribute by Brian Wilkinson of Zealia Engineering. Built on the original E-Type monocoque with GRP outer panels, a competition-rebuilt 3.8-litre dry-sump engine, five-speed Getrag gearbox, and Wilwood brakes, the car was raced at Knockhill in Scottish Motor Racing Club events during 1999. It retains a road-legal interior and comes with its original factory engine and a Jaguar Heritage Certificate.

Full conversion to Lightweight specification by Zealia Engineering: GRP outer panels shaped to replicate Lightweight bodywork fitted to original monocoque, tub reinforcement carried out in line with original Lightweight practice, partial roll cage installed, Wilwood uprated brakes fitted, 3.8-litre engine rebuilt to competition specification with dry-sump lubrication and side-draught Weber carburettors, and gearbox replaced with a five-speed Getrag unit. Replica peg-drive Dunlop-style wheels with three-eared spinners also fitted.

Work carried out by Brian Wilkinson of Zealia Engineering, a well-regarded specialist in classic Jaguars. Interior retained in period-correct condition to allow road use.

Are you the owner of this car?

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
