The 1946 Ford Sportsman is a rare wood-bodied convertible produced in limited numbers at Ford's Iron Mountain plant in Michigan, constructed from maple, birch, and mahogany with leather-trimmed interior. Conceived as a prestige halo car to draw buyers into showrooms, it retailed at a significant premium over the standard Super DeLuxe Convertible. This example is finished in Pheasant Red with a maroon interior, tan canvas roof, and an extensive array of factory options and accessories.
