2.7L flat-six with Bosch mechanical fuel injection, 210 bhp (Type 911/83)
Colour
Silver metallic over black leatherette

The 1976 Porsche Carrera 2.7 MFI is among the rarest road-going 911s ever produced — one of just 113 sunroof-delete coupes assembled as homologation Sondermodells exclusively for the German market, each fitted with the RS-specification Type 911/83 mechanical fuel injection flat-six. Believed to be the 23rd example built, it left the factory in Silbermetallic over black leatherette and later entered the well-known collection of Porsche enthusiast Magnus Walker in 2009. It retains its original engine and is accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

    full documentation

Walker purchased the car after recognising the significance of the MFI engine and the homologation VIN prefix; during his ownership he reupholstered the seats in tartan velour, added a ducktail and Carrera side script, and had the hood painted in a two-tone scheme, while retaining the original engine.

Maintenance & restoration

  1. Bodywork

Hood repainted in a two-tone scheme described by the owner as an R or ST style; Carrera side script and a ducktail spoiler were also fitted.

Work carried out during Walker's ownership; the car was also repainted overall at some point, though the original engine was retained.

  2. Maintenance

Interior bucket sports seats upholstered in tartan velour were installed to replace the original seating.

Modification made during Walker's ownership as a personal preference; remainder of the cabin was described as remaining essentially original.

Are you the owner of this car?

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
