A 1964 Sunbeam Tiger Mark I — the Ford V-8-engined derivative of the Alpine created through collaboration between Carroll Shelby and the Rootes Group — finished in rare Balmoral Gray, one of approximately 27 produced in this colour. Its traceable history begins in California in the mid-1970s. In 2007 a comprehensive factory-correct restoration was carried out by noted specialists, after which the car earned multiple Best of Show honours at Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association concours events and at the SAAC meet, and was exhibited at The Quail in 2010.
