Comprehensive, no-expense-spared restoration undertaken with priority given to retaining as much original bodywork as possible. The nose and tail tip required attention due to a replacement grille and accident damage respectively. Marque expert Raoul San Giorgi advised on accurate rendering of restored body sections. The original engine (823.926) was deemed uneconomical to rebuild and replaced with a correct-series unit (823.040), restored to Mille Miglia specification with period brass-bodied Weber carburetors.

Work carried out in Monrovia, California by Chris Kidd. Total expenditure reportedly exceeded seven figures. Supported by an extensive photographic record of the car's pre-restoration and as-found condition.

  2. Service

Recent routine servicing including fuel system and oil flush and filter replacement.

Carried out in the period shortly before the auction; car subsequently kept in climate-controlled storage.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
