Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2 chassis 0817, delivered in 1967 through a London dealer in left-hand-drive configuration with Verde Scuro coachwork by Carrozzeria Touring and a Senape leather interior. Notably among the last Touring-bodied 400 GTs before that coachbuilder's closure, the car spent several decades with a single Californian owner before being acquired in 2014 and subjected to a comprehensive, multi-year restoration in Germany by specialist workshops, returning it to original specification.

Maintenance & restoration

  1. 1998
    Maintenance

Car placed into long-term storage, where it remained until 2013, still in running order but otherwise neglected.

Occurred during the Californian owner's tenure; the car was subsequently repainted red at some point before or during this period.

  2. 2014Restoration
De Stefani (bodywork); Top Motors (engine); Auto Interni (interior)

Comprehensive multi-year restoration commenced in Germany after acquisition; the project took approximately four years and involved numerous specialist workshops. Bodywork was stripped to bare metal and reconstructed by De Stefani, the engine was fully disassembled and rebuilt to factory specification by Top Motors, the interior was completely removed and refurbished by Auto Interni, and all mechanical systems including gearbox, suspension, brakes, cooling, electrics, and exhaust were overhauled or replaced. A period-correct windscreen and new Borrani wire wheels were fitted. Total expenditure reached several hundred thousand euros and over 1,000 hours were logged on bodywork alone.

Detailed photographic records and invoices are retained in the car's history file. Only approximately 300 km have been covered since the restoration was finalised.

  3. Bodywork

Exterior repainted red from the original Verde Scuro, apparently during the American ownership period.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
