MOP 95F is an exceptionally early Ford Escort Mk 1 1100 Super, built in March 1968 and notable for its pre-production cross-cut chassis and door locks integrated into the handles. Acquired as a partially completed project, it was transformed into a high-specification restomod: the shell was stripped to bare metal, fitted with steel bubble arches, and painted Ermine White, while a turbocharged 2-litre Cosworth YBT engine — rebuilt and upgraded to approximately 365 bhp — was mated to a Cosworth T5 gearbox and Atlas LSD rear axle. The interior was fully renewed, and the completed car has covered only around 200 miles since the conversion.

Maintenance & restoration

  1. Restoration

Shell was fully stripped to bare metal, structurally reinforced beyond standard RS/Mexico Type 49 specification, fitted with steel bubble arches, and refinished in Ermine White. All rubber seals and bushes were replaced throughout.

Work carried out under the current vendor's ownership as part of a restomod build.

  2. Engine rebuild

A 2-litre turbocharged Cosworth YBT unit was sourced, fully rebuilt, and fitted with a larger turbocharger, raising output to an estimated 365 bhp at the wheels; power is transmitted via a Cosworth T5 gearbox, a bespoke propshaft, and a fixed-link Atlas LSD rear axle with trailing arms.

Car has accumulated approximately 200 miles since this drivetrain conversion was completed.

  3. Maintenance

Cabin completely renewed: early RS Twin Cam front seats with headrests fitted, new door cards and carpet set installed, fully electronic instrument display added, and a new Mountney steering wheel fitted.

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
