    Porsche's development department fitted the 911 S 2.4 shell with a prototype 2.7-litre flat-six engine, an early ducktail spoiler, and a supplementary instrument panel below the dashboard including gauges for amperage, oil pressure, and oil temperature, plus a communication radio.

    Work carried out as part of the factory's engineering development programme for what would eventually become the 911 Carrera RS 2.7.

    Bodywork

    Following the expiry of his registration exemption, Sussner had the car repainted from fluorescent yellow to red, replaced the prototype ducktail spoiler with a later whale-tail design, and had Bosch driving lights installed. The original prototype spoiler was kept in storage.

    The colour change was required because fluorescent yellow was only permitted for official vehicles under the original dispensation granted by the Regional Council of Stuttgart.

    Kadach, Winnenden

    German marque specialists restored the car to its immediate post-development appearance, reinstating the fluorescent yellow paintwork, the original prototype ducktail spoiler, Carrera side script, and the original pre-series instrument cluster beneath the dashboard. The 2.7-litre engine was rebuilt by Kadach and the Bosch fuel-injection pump was overhauled by a dedicated specialist.

    Restoration commissioned by the Stuttgart collector who acquired the car in 2016. A production-style Carrera RS decal was added below the spoiler, though period photographs do not conclusively confirm this was an original feature.
