The Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ (Tubolare Zagato) chassis 750039 is approximately the 39th of just 101 examples produced, completed in April 1965. Bodied by Zagato in aluminium over a lightweight tubular frame, it was raced competitively in Italy during the mid-1960s before being exported to the United States in the mid-1970s and subsequently restored for further competition. Since 1983 the car has been held by a single European collector, during which time it contested several historic events including the Coppa d'Italia and the Targa Florio.

During disassembly, olive pits were discovered within the bodywork structure; a small number were retained by the owner.
