291 cu. in. DeSoto Hemi V8

A 1953 Glasspar G2 roadster, one of approximately 150 produced by Southern California designer Bill Tritt, completed from a kit by Emilio Pistoresi, owner of a Chrysler dealership in Madera, California. Powered by a 291-cubic-inch DeSoto Hemi mated to a 1940 Ford transmission and rear axle, the car served the Pistoresi family for decades before a stalled restoration was revived by Texas-based restorer Gary Hatfield. The completed body-off restoration earned a first-place award at the 2016 Santa Fe Concours, and fewer than 30 examples of the type are believed to survive.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
